A third group of NHS services reflect the move into clinical service provision from community pharmacies. Some of these services are ones you may have been used to finding only in the GP surgery until recently.
Advice and treatment for minor ailments - sometimes your pharmacist is the best person to talk to first, especially if you are suffering from a minor ailment such as an eye infection, allergy, rash or cold.
The morning after pill (emergency hormonal contraception) - your pharmacist is appropriately trained and accredited to advise and supply emergency hormonal contraception. Please ask your pharmacist for more details.
Emergency supplies - if you require a medicine in an emergency and are unable to contact your doctor, we may be able to help.
Care home support - we can contribute to raising the standard of living for many care home residents who are often on many different medicines, by simplifying their medication regimes.
Appliances - we are experts in fitting hosiery and certain othe appliances. You can also seek our advice about stoma and incontinence supplies. We know it's often embarrassing to talk about problems like this so we have a private consulting room where you can speak confidentially to your pharmacist. Two of our pharmacists are women, to whom you may prefer to talk.
